But he didn't even have that much capital to make this dream come true.Because of which he started his business by selling bicycle parts, and then by selling parts, he knows about how he made Hero Group the world's largest two wheeler company.
The story begins. From 1 July 1923 when Brijmohan Lal Munjal was born at a place named Kamalia of undivided India. After the separation of India and Pakistan, Kamalia is now in Pakistan. Brijmohanlal came to Amritsar from Kamalia with his three brothers Dayanand, Satyanand and Omprakash at the age of just 20 and then started a bicycle parts business on a very small scale.
As the business grew, he also accumulated some money, and then in 1954 he established Hero Cycles in Ludhiana (Punjab), where he used to make chains, handles and forks for cycles. Two years later, in 1955, the Punjab government floated a tender for a bicycle manufacturing company. And in that Hero Cycles also participated in that tender. And luckily the Hero Group got the license to manufacture cycles from the government.
It is a matter of great happiness for the hero that he got help from the government,
After which he started the business of making cycles with his own capital and the help of 6 lakh rupees from the government. Although initially his productions were nothing special. But with the passage of time, with his dedication and hard work, he increased the production and started making 75 hundred cycles every year, and then by 1975, Hero Cycles became India's largest cycle maker. After which he started sending the cycles to foreign countries on a large scale. And in this way, by 1986, this company became not only India but also the largest bicycle manufacturing company in the whole world. And this year his record was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.
As of today, the company manufactures 19,000 cycles every day. After great success as a bicycle manufacturer, the Hero Group ventured into motorcycles (bikes) and for the first time they made the Hero Majestic moped,
And then in 1984, he tied up with the Japanese company Honda (honda) to make motor cycles. Just from here he again laid the foundation of another success.
And then Hero Group along with Honda set up a plant at a place called Dharuhera in Haryana to make motorcycles. And then on 13 April 1985, Hero Honda's first bike CD-100 was launched. The bike which created a buzz after its launch. Because this bike was specially made for common men. Due to its tremendous mileage and comfort, people liked it a lot. And this was the reason that from 1985 to 2002 Hero Honda sold 86 lakh motorcycles. At that time 16000 new motorcycles were being made every day.
