Sachdev was born in a middle-class family, but Sachdev never let his financial circumstances come in the way of his success. And only at the age of 15, he became a great successful entrepreneur.
He started his business by selling pens on bicycle along with his elder brother and later established a successful cable TV communication business in Delhi.
As an innovator, he quickly sensed the growth and needs of India's power backup industry and in 1998 decided to exit the cable TV business to set up Su-Kam Power Systems.

Having a degree in Mathematical Statistics and Law from Delhi University, he also majored in power electronics despite having no technical background. While handling multiple businesses, he became the head of Su-Kam's R&D division.
Sachdev was the first Indian industrialist to file a patent for technology and design in the Indian power backup industry. He is also credited with the invention of the world's first plastic body inverter and his invention was also named as "Innovation of the Decade" by India Today.
Kunwar revolutionized the power backup industry by inventing world class technologies like MOSFET, microcontroller based and DSP sine wave. They also gave "Home UPS" to India which had the qualities of both UPS and Inverter.
Before Su-Kam, the inverter industry was ruled by more than 100 people selling shoddy products – but Kunwar challenged the entire inverter industry with his invention.
Kunwar was never satisfied with his achievements and was always hungry to invent some new technology.

Keeping this in mind, he made changes in the technology of UPS. And today Kunwar is all set to launch its first touch screen UPS with Wi-Fi connectivity. Hardly anyone would have thought that this would happen one day.

Kunwar's love for technology had always grown. He was very interested in manufacturing green energy, he wished that green energy should be built everywhere in India.

Kunwar had made the best marketing strategy for his company Su-Kaam and before that no company had made marketing strategy but after that in 90s everyone started making marketing strategy following his path.
After this, Su-Kaam used to make boards of famous dhabos herself and gift them and also used to advertise her equipments on them.
There is also a story behind this, according to which once Kunwar went to see Dal Sarovar in Kashmir and there he also saw many beautiful "Sikar Boats" and the very next day all those boats were converted into Su-Kaam.
Kunwar is one of those great entrepreneurs who understood the importance of internal branding. Kunwar had inculcated the Su-Kaam culture in such a way that his entire staff celebrated all the festivals (including Su-Kaam's sports week) with joy, his staff was no less than a big family.
Along with Etav and actor Ravi Kishan, Kunwar also launched his first reality TV show India's Greatest Salesman – Sale Ka Baazigar. Never before had anyone seen a show like this to motivate salespeople. This show was liked by many people and thousands and lakhs of people participated in it. And its winners today work in good work.
Globalizing the Indian Brand
Kunwar Sachdev always believed that if you can dream, you can make it come true. And his same thinking made Su-Kam India's largest power backup solution company. He wanted to make his Indian brand famous globally and he was successful in doing so.
He had also made many foreign trips to spread his brand globally.
Su-Kaam could be established in almost 90 countries only under the guidance of Kunwar. Su-Kaam had now become an international brand and along with this, Su-Kaam received many awards in countries like Africa and Nepal.
